Who we are

Part of the Logos family — proudly local.

Logos Christian School, Limuru Campus, is one of three campuses of Logos Christian Schools — a family of Christian private schools committed to combining strong academics with Biblical truth.

Founded in 2007 and now under the umbrella of the Nairobi Chapel, Logos Christian School Limuru offers quality, authentic Christian Education — educating for life and eternity.

Our identity, mission, vision and values are shared with our sister campus. What is unique here in Limuru is the warmth of our local community, the rhythm of our school days and the relationships our teachers build with every child and family.

Our Vision

Excellence and godly character, together.

To raise a generation of young people of excellence and of Godly Character.

Our Mission

To nurture, inspire and equip.

Providing a nurturing and biblically based learning environment where learners develop their abilities and are equipped for effective, God-glorifying lives.

History of L.C.S.L

The story of Logos Limuru.

Logos Christian School Limuru was founded in 2007 by Rick and Diana Wilson, missionaries from the USA. It is in Limuru Constituency, Kiambu County, in Kenya.

At inception, then known as Jean Cornell Academy, it was run under the Mayatima Project to offer quality education to HIV/AIDS orphans in the community. Talk of humble beginnings!

At the end of 2011, the school ceased operating and remained so through 2012. It was reopened in 2013 as Cornell Preparatory Academy.

On 2nd May 2017, it was renamed Logos Christian School Limuru, having come under the umbrella of the Nairobi Chapel.

It has since grown in leaps and bounds in infrastructure, programs, teaching/learning activities, and academic performance.

We look forward to tremendous growth in the coming days. As we “Educate for life and eternity” — as our motto goes — we are convinced that our deliberate effort in this direction will, ultimately, culminate in the visible transformation of the whole child who will later saturate their community with the learnt values, beliefs, and faith in Christ Jesus.

Further, with quality education offered at this school, our learners will, hopefully, permeate the entire country from whichever corner God will decide to place them. Then, slowly but steadily, by the grace of God, the entire community in which we have been placed will be transformed by the power of God that works in us for His glory.

Statement of Faith

The Bible

2 Peter 1:21 · 2 Timothy 3:16 · Isaiah 40:8

The Bible is the inspired word of God. It is the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the divine and final authority for all Christian believers. Scripture originated from God and was given through the instrumentality of chosen men. Scripture speaks with the authority of God and reflects the nature of the human authors. Scripture is the unique and final authority on all matters of faith and practice, and there are no other writings inspired by God. The Holy Spirit guides believers in understanding and applying the Scriptures.

SPARK Goals

How we shape a whole child.

Logos Christian School is a ministry of the Nairobi Chapel that offers quality, authentic Christian Education — "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man." (Luke 2:52)

S

Spiritual Formation

The Chaplain models a Christlike life, equips parents and staff, and disciples children through daily devotions for staff and children, Christianity infused through the curriculum, prayer meetings, assemblies, Bible classes and PPI.

P

Psycho-Physical Development

Confidence building, physical well-being, sports, art, music (class lessons, individual sessions, orchestra, concerts and recitals), Life Skills lessons, PPI and gender-based counselling — all infused with Biblical values that nurture the whole child.

A

Academic Excellence

Class sessions from Kindergarten to Primary develop critical thinking and infuse Christian Education for enduring understanding. Staff are trained weekly, monthly and termly to teach Christianly using investigation, research, experiments and group learning that lead to deep self-discovery.

R

Relational IQ

People skills and soft skills are critical for healthy living. Through intentional, discipleship-based interactions, careful discipline, Life Skill lessons, PPI and counselling, children learn to regulate emotions, empathise and relate healthily with peers, authority and society.

K

'K'ommunity Focus

Learners develop skills, knowledge and values not solely for their own benefit, but to give back to society. School trips, assemblies, sports, music, clubs, debates, group counselling and 'show & tell' help learners gain values and skills to share with the wider community — for 'love is not self-seeking'.

What we believe about children

Our educational philosophy.

  • Every child is uniquely and intentionally created by God with purpose, talent and potential.
  • Education is the careful shaping of the whole person — mind, heart, body and soul — for a life of service.
  • The Word of God is the absolute foundation on which all teaching, leadership and discipline are built.
  • Children flourish when they are deeply known, gently disciplined and consistently inspired.
  • Parents are the primary disciplers of their children; the school's role is to come alongside the home.
